Perkins Percussions will host a series of hand drumming workshops, to include hands on as well as demonstrations.   We will introduce and discuss the different types of hand drums as well as other percussive instruments. We will also discuss the origin as well as different rhythm dialects and how they transcend cultures. We will take a look at how auxiliary percussion is used in different juanras of music: jazz, R & B, Blues, Go Go, etc.

We’ll execute a comprehensive curriculum, which will introduce and discuss a plethora of other percussive instruments, such as Tambourine, Clave, Afuche Cabasa, Talking Drum, etc.  This is in hopes that all who partake are enriched by the exposure of this historical element, (Drum) and how it continues to transcend lives.
